2007 Chevy Silverado Upper Control Arm Engineering
Your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado deserves suspension control components that match how you use the truck. JBA upper control arms replace factory stamped steel control arms with a fully rebuildable design built from 4140 chromoly steel. Max 90 Ball Joints deliver 90-degree articulation through CNC-machined construction, not cast housings that crack under load. EZ Lube Bushings include 8 individual grease ports with pressure relief valves, so you control maintenance intervals instead of replacing sealed components every 30,000 miles.
Each left upper and front right control arm ships ready to install. Kits included for bolt-on fitment to control arm models and other compatible years. The same arm design fits 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, and GMC Sierra trucks sharing the GMT900 platform.
Rebuildable Ball Joint and Bushing Design
Factory suspension control arms use sealed ball joint assemblies that fail without warning. JBA Max 90 Ball Joints thread into the arm with a snap ring, so you replace the joint without replacing the entire arm. EZ Lube Bushings press out with standard tools when wear occurs. You maintain the arm on your schedule, in your shop, with components you can source. No proprietary tools required. No press-fit assemblies that destroy the arm during service.
Silverado Control Arm Material Specifications
JBA machines every arm from 4140 chromoly steel plate, not mild steel tubing. Chromoly delivers 90,000 PSI tensile strength compared to 60,000 PSI for DOM tubing used in fabricated designs. The boxed arm design resists torsional flex during articulation and absorbs impact loading on rock strikes without permanent deformation. CNC laser cutting and robotic welding eliminate the inconsistency of hand-fabricated components.
Max 90 Ball Joints are CNC-machined from the same 4140 chromoly steel as the arm body. The stud extends through a hardened bearing race with 90-degree sweep, doubling the articulation range of factory 45-degree ball joint assemblies. This matters when your suspension cycles through full droop on uneven terrain or during lift kit installation.
Maintenance Intervals for Control Arms
EZ Lube Bushings accept grease through 8 ports, 4 per bushing. Pressure relief valves purge contaminated grease during service. Grease every 5,000 miles in daily-driven trucks. Grease every 1,000 miles in lifted trucks running 35-inch tires or larger. Grease after every trail ride in mud or water crossings. You decide when to service based on use, not when a sealed bushing tears and dumps the truck into alignment shop.
2007 Chevy Silverado Upper Control Arm Replacement
Symptoms of a failing control arm include clunking over bumps, steering wander at highway speed, and uneven tire wear on the inside edge. Factory arms fail when the ball joint seizes or the bushing tears. JBA arms eliminate both failure modes through rebuildable construction. You replace worn components during scheduled maintenance instead of waiting for catastrophic failure on the highway.
Installation takes 2 to 3 hours for a pair of upper control arms with basic hand tools. No welding required. No frame modifications required. Alignment is required after installation to set caster and camber within factory specifications. The 2013 Chevy Silverado upper control arm works with factory suspension geometry or with 2 to 4-inch lift kits on 2007 Silverado trucks.
Cross-Platform Fitment for GMT900 Trucks
The same upper control arm fits 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2007-2013 GMC Sierra 1500, 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche, 2007-2013 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. JBA does not manufacture separate left and right kits. Each kit included contains one left upper and one right upper arm with all required hardware.
Lifetime Structural Warranty Coverage
Every JBA upper control arm carries a lifetime structural warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty covers the arm body, welds, and ball joint threads. Wear components, including Max 90 Ball Joints and EZ Lube Bushings, are serviceable parts with separate replacement intervals. You own the arm for the life of your truck, not until the first sealed component fails.
