2010 Chevy Suburban Upper Control Arm Engineering
The 2010 Chevrolet Suburban shares front suspension architecture with the GMT900 platform. When you add lift kits or run larger tires, OEM control arms lose caster angle and bind at full articulation. An upgraded suburban control arm restores factory geometry on lifted Suburbans and adds 90 degrees of ball joint travel. Each arm kit ships with Max 90 Ball Joints CNC-machined from 4140 chromoly steel and EZ Lube Bushings with 8 individual grease ports. You can rebuild every wear component without replacing the entire arm.
Sealed ball joints fail on the trail because contamination enters through torn boots. Max 90 Ball Joints use a greaseable stud with pressure relief valves. Pump fresh grease through the fitting and purge contaminants before they score the bearing race. The 90-degree articulation range prevents binding when your Chevy Suburban cycles through suspension travel on uneven terrain.
Front Upper Control Arm Kit Components
Each front upper arm kit includes a pair of control arms, ball joints pre-installed, and all mounting hardware. EZ Lube Bushings replace the OEM rubber isolators that crack and tear under load. The 8-port grease system lets you service each pivot point independently. You maintain the bushings on your schedule instead of waiting for failure. Replacement front control arms from JBA are fully rebuildable. When a ball joint wears out after years of use, you replace the joint, not the entire assembly.
The arm bodies are CNC-bent from DOM tubing and welded in fixtures to maintain alignment specs. JBA Red powder coat resists trail damage better than paint. Every weld and tube is backed by a lifetime structural warranty. If the arm body cracks or bends, JBA replaces it.
Lift and Suspension Compatibility
JBA control arms work with 0 to 4 inch lift kits on the 2010 Suburban. The extended ball joint placement corrects caster angle lost when you raise the front suspension. You regain steering returnability and reduce tire scrub. The arms also prevent upper ball joint contact with the frame at full droop, a common failure point on lifted GMT900 trucks running OEM suspension components.
Builders running 33-inch to 35-inch tires see immediate handling improvements. The front upper control arm kit restores the contact patch geometry that OEM engineers designed for factory ride height. You get predictable turn-in and reduced bump steer when the suspension cycles through its travel range.
Maintenance and Serviceability
How hard is it to replace an upper control arm? On the 2010 Chevy Suburban, you need a ball joint separator, a torque wrench, and two hours per side. JBA includes detailed instructions with torque specs and alignment notes. The EZ Lube Bushings reduce long-term maintenance compared to sealed OEM components. Grease the 8 ports every 5,000 miles or after water crossings. The pressure relief valves show you when fresh grease has purged old lubricant and contaminants.
Common problems with the 2010 Suburban include front suspension noise from worn control arm bushings and ball joints. OEM replacement parts use the same sealed design that failed the first time. JBA arms eliminate repeat failures through greaseable architecture and rebuildable construction. You service the components instead of replacing them.
JBA Offroad Heritage and Warranty
JBA has engineered suspension components since 2003. The Gen 4.5 control arms in this collection represent two decades of refinement based on feedback from trail builders and expedition operators. Thousands of JBA arms run in jungle fleet operations, desert rock crawls, and daily-driven lifted trucks. The lifetime structural warranty covers the arm body, not just the finish. If it bends or cracks, JBA ships a replacement.
