Pre-Assembled Kit - fits lift type
Spring Lift or Leveling Kit [1 to 3.5-inch lift]

Spacer Lift, Leveling kit, and Spring lift kit

These kits cause the upper arms to angle downward toward the ball joints. The Leveling kit or strut lift removes the factory rake angle by lifting the front level with the rear of the vehicle.

Spring kits remove the factory rake angle and lift the rear of the vehicle about 1.5" - 2.5"

Spring Lift with Cradle Drop Kit

Spring lift kit with Cradle Drop Kit

These kits cause the upper arms to angle downward toward the ball joints. The cradle drop lift, cross-member drop, or drop bracket lift kit with spring kits.

Example: 4" cradle drop lift with a 2" spring/coil over lift = 6" lift kit. 6" cradle drop lift with a 2" spring/coil over lift = 8" lift kit. When the mounting holes are offset by 4" and the kit is a 6" kit, the other 2 inches are made up from the strut lift or spring lift.

Why Your 2021 Canyon Needs Aftermarket Control Arms

Factory upper control arms limit your Canyon's suspension travel and create geometry problems when you add a lift. JBA upper control arms restore proper caster correction and allow full articulation without binding. Each arm is built with 4140 chromoly steel and CNC-machined ball joints rated for 90-degree articulation. The fully rebuildable design means these parts outlast sealed OEM components by years.

Your 2021 GMC Canyon shares the GMT31XX platform with the Colorado and Silverado 1500, but it demands vehicle-specific geometry. JBA arms are engineered to correct alignment angles disrupted by aftermarket lift kits while maintaining factory ride quality on pavement. The tubular upper design reduces unsprung weight compared to factory-stamped-steel parts.

Built to Strict Quality Control Standards

Every arm kit ships with hardware, installation instructions, and components inspected under strict quality control standards before leaving the facility. Max 90 Ball Joints feature pressure relief valves that prevent over-greasing and premature seal failure. EZ Lube Bushings distribute grease to 8 individual ports, ensuring even lubrication across the entire bushing surface. You maintain these components on your schedule, not when a sealed joint fails 800 miles from home.

The 2021 Canyon's independent front suspension benefits from serviceable ball joints you can rebuild in your driveway. Orders typically ship within 2-3 business days. JBA has built upper control arms since 2003, refining the design through four generations to the current Gen 4.5 specification.

What Makes These Control Arms Different

JBA Red powder coat resists trail damage and identifies genuine parts. The arm geometry corrects caster angles thrown off by 2-6 inch lift kits, restoring on-center steering feel and reducing tire wear. Each control arm uses a DOM steel tube body with CNC-machined chromoly steel ball joint housings. The ball joint itself is machined from a single billet of 4140 chromoly, not stamped and welded like budget accessories.

Common problems with the 2021 Canyon include premature ball joint wear after lifting, especially when running aggressive tire sizes. Sealed factory joints can't be serviced, so you replace the entire assembly. JBA's rebuildable design lets you swap out wear components while keeping the arm body. Fleet operators running Canyons in jungle and desert conditions report 50,000+ mile service intervals on properly maintained JBA components.

Compatibility Across GMT31XX Platforms

This upper control arm for the 2017 Canyon fits 2015-2023 GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado models. The same engineering applies to GMT900 and K2XX Silverado applications. JBA manufactures vehicle-specific kits to ensure proper fitment and handling characteristics. Your Canyon isn't a half-ton pickup by payload classification, but it shares critical suspension architecture with full-size GM trucks.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation requires basic hand tools and a floor jack. Most builders complete the swap in 3-4 hours. Grease the EZ Lube Bushings every 5,000 miles or after water crossings. Inspect ball joint boots every oil change. The lifetime structural warranty covers the arm body and all machined components against failure from material or manufacturing defects. Wear items like boots and seals are excluded but available as individual replacement parts.

Why Serviceability Matters Off-Road

Sealed suspension components fail without warning. A blown ball joint on a technical descent or remote trail creates a recovery situation, not a repair opportunity. JBA's greaseable design extends service life and gives you control over maintenance intervals. Expedition leaders running multi-vehicle convoys choose rebuildable kits because field repairs are possible with basic tools and spare parts.
