Jeep Liberty Upper Control Arms
Jeep Liberty Lifts Require Upper Control Arm Upgrades
The Jeep Liberty was produced in two versions, the Jeep Liberty KJ (2002-2007) and Jeep Liberty KK (2008-2012), and were branded outside of the United States as Jeep Cherokee. Many recognize the Liberty as the third and fourth-generation Jeep Cherokee. With the right modifications, both of these models are exceptionally capable off-road machines.
JBA Offroad manufacturers upper control arms (also known as UCAs or upper a-arms) for both the KJ Jeep Liberty and KK Jeep Liberty.
All Jeep Liberty models have independent front suspension and require replacement of factory upper control arms when lifted. If factory UCAs are not replaced, your Jeep Liberty alignment and clearances will be both incorrect and unsafe.
When Jeep Libertys are lifted, caster is lost from the front-end alignment. Caster is critical for stability over 45 miles per hour and returns the steering wheel to center after going around a corner. Additionally, factory upper control arms often rub on the front springs at certain articulations. If factory a-arms are not replaced when lifting a Jeep Liberty, expensive and dangerous damage is likely.
JBA led the industry back in 2004 with the development of the first aftermarket upper control arms, which enabled the vehicles with independent front suspension to be safely lifted. Today, JBA upper control arms are installed on thousands of vehicles, including lifted Jeep Libertys, and driven all over the world. JBA UCAs work with Jeep Liberty lift kits up to 4 inches above factory ride height.
